May News

Although the Berkshire county golf season started a bit later than we all would have liked, Forest Park Country Club opened in Mid-April and weathered the winter quite well compared to many of our fellow courses in the region. June Blake and her team worked feverously throughout early April and it is greatly appreciated.

Speaking of Junes staff, we have a new addition to our grounds crew this year in Chad Alibozek. Chad is a Hoosac Valley alumni and recent graduate of Kaiser University College of Golf and will also be attending Salem State in the fall. When you see Chad around the course say Hi and don’t be bashful about asking for a couple of pointers – he’s a pretty good golfer in his own right!!

Also new around the course this year are our state of the art sand trap rakes. These ergonomically designed rakes are made from an ultra-light, organic polymer resin which enables the user to rake traps in half the time of conventional rakes. Should you have the misfortune of finding yourself in one of the traps on the course, please give them a try.

The tournament season is heating up here mid-month with many events being posted and added to the schedule so check the bulletin boards and get your foursome lined up. We have many tournaments that support great causes and organizations throughout the season and they’re always a fun time.

Our four weekly leagues are underway and if you’re currently not playing in one, you can still get in on the action by being a weekly substitute. With the summer being a busy time for everyone, be assured that if you’re on a sub list, you’ll be getting a chance to play in the leagues. See “B” Cardin in the clubhouse for more information.

Planning a party? Consider our banquet facility. Our bright hall is the perfect venue for receptions, showers, and parties of all kinds. We can also help with coordinating catering and entertainment options. For more information and available dates, please give us a call at 743-3311.

Well that’s all for now but stay tuned for more updates………….See you on the course boys and girls!!
